About Us

Merritt and Karen launched 2 Mother Hustlers, LLC, a clothing brand, in November 2019. They worked full-time jobs and did shirts on the side at festivals and fairs all over Kentucky. Having found a passion for craft fairs and festivals, they were devastated by the impact COVID-19 had on the maker community.

Thinking outside of the box, the two shifted their business plans around and still managed to have the best first year together. The two entrepreneurs quickly outgrew their space and knew they needed a retail location. Driven by a passion to not only grow their own brand but also support their fellow vendors, Meritt and Karen created the Local LEX Market.

Located at 439 Southland Drive, Local LEX Market is a dedicated market space for Kentucky crafters, makers, bakers, and artists. Our shop proudly houses handcrafted items from over 75 small businesses and is the perfect place to shop small. You will love browsing our Lexington gift shop and discovering one-of-a-kind, locally produced products.
